Activities

Beside your Spanish course you will have plenty of time explore Quito and Ecuador . You are welcome to participate in our after-school activity program that gives you a chance to get to know the other language students, Ecuador and Quito . During the participation in our leisure and cultural activities you are likely to improve your Spanish skills, since you will be surrounded by Spanish speaking people, with whom you can practice your new vocabulary. Our after-school activity program is not obligatory, however, the activities complement the Spanish course and you won't be bored in the evening.

We start the program with a sightseeing trip through the city. You will be taught important facts about the daily life in Quito, so you know your way around and easily find the next bus stop, know where to get money and where to find internet access to communicate with your loved ones at home.

During your trip we offer different typical Ecuadorian highlights, such as dancing lessons, where professionals show you the moves to Latin American rhythms. Acting sessions with the other students and the teachers are a lot of fun. In a group you can learn Spanish together with Romeo and Julia or Don Quijote. In addition we offer interesting lectures on historical important and modern relevant topics. If you are interested in experiencing a fun Latin American tradition, you should attend a Fiesta hosted by Academia Columbus, where you are served home-made food and typical exotic drinks.
